Invigorating Motion PT
I’m Sarah Rainey, a Doctor of Physical Therapy with a passion for helping active individuals move, feel, and perform their best. My approach goes beyond treating pain. I specialize in analyzing full-body movement patterns to uncover the root cause of limitations. Whether your goal is to enhance sports performance, prevent injury, or simply feel stronger and more capable in everyday life, I’m here to guide you toward lasting wellness and confidence in your movement.
From Rehab to Performance
The longer you wait to address pain, movement limitations, or performance barriers, the harder they can be to overcome. Small aches and inefficiencies often grow into bigger setbacks if left unchecked. By starting today, you’re not only taking control of your health—you’re investing in your future strength, confidence, and performance. Every step you take now brings you closer to moving freely, feeling better, and living the active life you deserve.
Movement is a vital sign
Just like we check blood pressure, cholesterol, or other key health markers, it’s just as important to check how your body moves. That’s where the Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) and the Functional Movement Screen (FMS) come in.
These movement checks are designed to identify imbalances, weaknesses, or restrictions that may not show up until they cause pain or limit performance. Think of them as a “physical exam” for how your joints, muscles, and nervous system work together.
- FMS is often used as a baseline screen—great for athletes, active adults, or anyone wanting to prevent injury. It highlights compensations and inefficiencies in basic movement patterns.
- SFMA digs deeper when pain or limitations are present. It helps pinpoint whether the problem is due to mobility, stability, or motor control issues, guiding us toward the true cause instead of just chasing symptoms.
By analyzing your movement this way, we can not only reduce your risk of injury but also improve sports performance—whether it’s running faster, lifting more efficiently, or moving with confidence in everyday life.
